Educational Therapist (Literacy)
Hannah obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts in Psychology from the National University of Singapore, and subsequently trained with the National Institute of Education Singapore to obtain her Diploma in Special Education (DISE) . To broaden her knowledge and understanding in supporting children under her care, Hannah is pursuing her Masters of Arts in Special Education Needs/Additional Learning Needs (MA SEN/ALN) with the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (partnered with University of South Wales, UK).
Having worked with children with a variety of additional needs aged 7 – 12 in three primary schools for five years, Hannah is familiar with the local education system. She was also given the opportunity to train as an instructor under the Psychological Services Branch (MOE) to deliver the School-based Dyslexia Remediation Programme, and had then provided therapy to children with dyslexia in schools. Apart from actively devising intervention plans for the children, she worked closely with parents, teachers and external supporting agencies in providing the multi-tiered support.
Hannah has a flair in connecting with children. She places a strong emphasis on developing a child’s emotional and mental wellbeing, as well as in building a safe and positive environment for them to share and learn. She also believes in exploring a child’s personal strengths and interests to fuel the growth in his/her areas of need.
