Nalina’s main areas of specialty are self-regulation (ADHD/ADD/combined subtypes), executive functioning skill subsets, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, student wellbeing and inclusive education.

Nalina has a Master in Education (Special Education) and has been working in the field of special educational needs since 2004. Her early career in special education began at an expatriate centre for learning needs in Singapore, where she worked with students from the international and local schools, on their literacy, numeracy and study skills. Her work within an international multi- disciplinary team, consisting of educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, meant that she worked closely with the team and would act as Principal case manager to communicate and advise parents and external parties, such as schools and medical professionals, as required. It was during this time that Nalina received an invitation from the Head of Department, Early Childhood and Special Needs Education, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, to take on a role as a teacher-Supervisor/Mentor for students in teacher training. In this role, Nalina provided mentorship to Allied Educators (Learning and Behavioural Support) for the practicum component of the Diploma in Special Education (DISE) course. Nalina is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer with the School of Education at Taylor’s University Malaysia.
